Elan School is licensed by the Maine Department of Education as a special purpose private school for grades 8-12 and is authorized to grant diplomas to those students who meet graduation requirements.

Elan was awarded academic accreditation and therapeutic certification through NIPSA (National Independent Private School Association).  NIPSA is a member of NCPSA (National Council for Private School Accreditation). 

Elan School is on the approval list for the states of Illinois, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Elan School has been a proud member of NATSAP (National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs) since 1999.

Elan is a member of the MPA - Maine Principals' Association
